"Smart" Thermostat
The smart ones are the guys who are selling the Ecobee Smart Thermostat. A couple of searches leave me thinking that this will be available next year for something like $400.00! The first sale pays for R&D, the second pays for the first year's web hosting - after that, it's all profit, baby.
Really, you'd have to be a fool not to buy this. With the high cost of energy these days, this thermostat will pay for itself in only 20 or 25 years. Factor in the cost of the thermostat that you would have bought anyway when that clunker with the ratcheting dial that can't keep the temperature in your house to within 12 degrees finally breaks, and we're looking at only 19 to 24 years.
Ah, but wait... Does that say WiFi connectivity? Web connection? Looks like I was thinking about the wrong target market. Man, I hope these are available before Christmas!
